Thunderstorms and Strong Winds Expected in Seven States until 4PM

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 – Several parts of Malaysia are bracing for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds as the Meteorological Department issues a weather alert affecting multiple states and territories.
The advisory, released at 1PM earlier today (Friday), warns the public on severe weather conditions expected to last until 4PM.

Areas At Risk
According to the latest forecast, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Johor, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Sarawak are likely to experience unstable weather conditions. Specific districts within these states have been highlighted as areas of concern due to the anticipated intensity of storms.
In Perak, the affected districts include Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim. Several areas in Kelantan, including Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah, Machang, and Pasir Puteh, are also expected to see thunderstorms.
Terengganu’s Besut district, along with Pahang’s Cameron Highlands, have been identified as locations prone to heavy rain and strong winds.

Selangor, as well as parts of Johor, including Segamat, Kluang, Kulai, and Johor Bahru, are also in the warning zone. The Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are similarly forecasted to experience stormy weather.
Weather Conditions In Sarawak
The advisory also extends to several regions in Sarawak, with districts such as Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman and Betong expected to receive significant rainfall.
Other locations at risk include Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Kapit (Song), Bintulu, and Miri (Subis), where strong winds and downpours could affect local communities.
