KUALA LUMPUR, 24/09/2025 — The Consulate General of Malaysia in Hong Kong and Macao has issued an urgent safety alert for all Malaysian citizens residing in or visiting these regions, following the escalation of Super Typhoon Ragasa.
Super Typhoon Warnings Activated
The Hong Kong Observatory raised the Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 10 at 2.40 am local time on Saturday, marking the highest level of alert for the region. This was swiftly followed by an Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal just five minutes later. These warnings are expected to remain in force for an extended period, as the typhoon continues its trajectory.
Guidelines for Malaysian Citizens
Malaysians are urged to seek secure indoor shelter immediately and to adhere strictly to the warnings associated with T8 or higher tropical cyclone signals. The consulate has advised citizens to stock up on sufficient food and essential supplies and to avoid all coastal areas. Malaysians in need of urgent medical assistance are advised to contact emergency services at 999.
